Leading this mission is Astrid, our inspiring Managing Director, whose lifelong dedication to health, disability, aged care, and community services has transformed lives across Western Australia and Southeast Asia for over 30 years.

As a mother, nurse, experienced business owner, and disability advocate, Astrid has firsthand insight into the challenges people living with disabilities face—from service gaps to the lack of fit-for-purpose housing. Her vision? To change the status quo and create homes that optimize independence, community connection, and quality of life and specifically meet the individual needs for member of doubly disadvantaged communities.

Championing Change in SDA & NDIS
Astrid’s leadership extends beyond Ability Housing. As a Board Director with the SDA Alliance and a member of the NDIS Commission Provider Reference Group, she ensures that the voices of people with disabilities are heard at the highest levels, influencing policy and housing solutions for a more inclusive future.

A Passion for Impact
Astrid’s commitment doesn’t stop at Ability Housing—she also provides pro bono advisory services and has a long history of volunteering with social purpose enterprises. Her deep expertise in disability services, healthcare, and property development allows Ability Housing to create specialised, boutique homes that not only meet business needs but, most importantly, provide life-changing social returns.
